Bliss Jelly Glow Peel is unlike any other exfoliating product I’ve ever used.I’ve always liked bliss products in general, but I bought this particular one based solely upon the recommendations of someone I follow on social media and wow— they were so right. At first this product looks like it’s not going to do much. Unlike other exfoliants it is not a mask, it doesn’t technically “peel off” and it doesn’t contain any of those annoying sharp kernels that are supposed to scrub your face but never do and instead always end up getting caught underneath one or both of my eyelids (no matter how carefully I try to avoid that) this was nothing like those. The second I began applying it (in small circles, per instructions) I could see something happening to the gel. I thought it was getting congealed and turning white but then I quickly realized that that wasn’t the gel turning white at all— the gel was still light translucent pink and the white beads clumping up was the dead skin!I’m pretty diligent with my skincare, so wow. Was I surprised. From now on, this is my go-to skin exfoliant. In short, when they say “peel“ here, they’re talking about the kind of peel that you’d get at the dermatologist office. Obviously it’s not EXACTLY the same type of chemical peel, and not exactly the same as professional results, it IS just a do-it-yourself skincare product, made with naturally occurring fruit enzymes, safe to use in your own home, but the principle is similar. And it’s worth noting that (more so than any other at-home exfoliating/ peel product I’ve tried) this one gave me the closest results to a professional skin peel.As much as I can’t wait to use this product again I know that once you’ve done a good job of exfoliating, you really need to let your skin rest and rejuvenate itself for a few days. Don’t go overboard and use daily or else your skin will probably become red, dry and irritated.Just leave well enough alone and go out and enjoy your fresh, new, baby-soft skin— after applying sunscreen, of course. ;-)
